Many dictators have renamed cities, regions, mountains, roads, and even countries to glorify themselves, their ideology, or their regimes. Few of these name changes survived their deaths. Neither will Trump’s. The Democratic Party had better promise to immediately revert to the status quo ante on Trump’s name changes or they will be facing the music from an electorate tired of all the bullshit. Hopefully, “Pétains” like Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer have gotten the message. If not, it’s bye bye to them.
The Fetid Prince of Mar-a-Lago and his lackeys have seen fit to place the name Donald J. Trump on everything from the John F. Kennedy for the Performing Arts and the U.S. Institute of Peace to West Palm Beach International Airport and various highways around the nation. Trump’s Justice Department goon attorneys have threatened to have the Kennedy Center demolished as “structurally unsound” unless the name is changed to “The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump.” Trump also plans to have his signature, which looks like a seismograph reading for a 9.0 earthquake, along with his ugly mug on a $250 bill. The same mug shot and his signature are set to appear in some U.S. passports.
Trump began his strongman geographical renaming spree by signing an executive order reverting the name of the Alaskan mountain Denali to Mount McKinley. The state of Alaska, which has called the mountain Denali since 1975, continues to do so. Trump signed another meaningless superficial executive order designating the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America.” No other nation or international organization have recognized the command from the dime store Hitler. Doubling down on his re-mapping tantrum, Trump recently issued another of his unenforceable executive orders renaming Lake Ontario as “Lake America.” Trump also stated he might rename the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.
Over the past century, Trump’s name changing spree rivals that of Soviet Communist dictator Joseph Stalin. In fact, Trump, who decided to marry two women from the former Communist bloc in Eastern Europe (and likely molested scores of teens from Eastern Europe during his dalliances with pedophile human traffickers Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell), joins such Soviet era geographical name changers as Klement Gottwald, Walter Ulbricht, Josip Broz Tito, and Nicolae Ceaușescu.
Trump, his Sharpie in hand over a world map, has also farted out of his mouth a claim that he has renamed the Strait of Hormuz, which lies between Iran and Oman, as U.S. territory under the name “Strait of America.”
Trump and his Secretary of “War” Pete Hegseth are boastful about having re-named the Department of Defense, which it has been since 1947, as the “Department of War.” No other nation — not Russia, North Korea, Iran, or Cuba — calls their armed forces ministries or departments the “Department of War.” Trump and his mentally challenged Cabinet and advisers believe they are somehow “special.” They are, if one defines “special” as the designation used by mental hospitals for their most peculiarly acting patients. You know. The ones who shit on the floor and then use it as tempera finger paint on the padded walls.
Hegseth, the guy who uses his snot for Brylcreem, thought it would be too clover by half to rename various Army installations, which had previously been named after Confederate traitors, to revert back to their racially tinged names by claiming the bases were not being named for Confederates. Hegseth and his merry band of devotees to Spartan military homo-erotica insisted that Forts Lee, Braddock, Hood, Gordon, Pickett, A.P. Hill, Polk, Rucker, and Benning were named after obscure members of the military who just so happened to have the same last names as the rebel generals. Bullshit. Hegseth and his cronies wear their white nationalism on their sleeves, and no amount of Eddie Haskell-like gaslighting will change anyone’s minds.
Over the last century, tin horn dictators from multiple countries have renamed place names to satisfy their over-inflated egos. Trump will not only go down in history as the worst American president but he will join such rogues as Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, and the Kims of North Korea as a brutish map changer.
Trump believes he is as consequential to history as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini, and other tyrants. Actually, Trump does join those dictators, especially the prolific name changer Stalin, but not for the reason he thinks. Among his other outrages, Trump’s fetish for unilaterally changing names will follow him to his grave and be imprinted in the annals of the history of his fellow eternally damned.
